This is one of the other Nunavut Housing employees that was in Pang to help me get settled. A couple came in looking to sell this hoodie. This hoodie is made of beaver. 11 beavers to be exact. I know there is some naysayers out there, but you can’t deny that this isn’t beautiful and warm. They also make seal skin jackets and gloves and many other items. You won’t see a whole lot of store-bought items up here. When I think of beavers it never crossed my mind to be wearing them. Ha ha. To give you a ballpark price they were asking $2500 for the hoodie. That is why there isn’t a picture of me wearing it. I was too scared to try it on because I might find it comfy and get involved in buying it. You can barter though, and you can usually get things down to almost half price.
Another somewhat humorous story to go with this hoodie. Is when they came in and mentioned it was a beaver coat made of 11 beavers. The Simpsons automatically popped in my head with Burns making the greyhound dog coat, and it came out right away and I asked if they made polar bear underwear. (even though the song says grizzly bear underwear). They didn’t get my reference and said nobody has asked for polar bear underwear, and they laughed at the thought and replied anything is possible. So, I didn’t ask if they had loafers made of gophers.
