Here are the pictures from my first hike this summer. I plan to go for a hike every weekend. Hopefully, one time I will be able to make it up the mountainside. My first hike was 6km long, and I only made it halfway up the mountainside. It was a lot harder climb than I thought. The scenery was stunning. The water right now is colder in the ocean than what is coming off the mountainside. It did not feel super cold, but I am a pansy when it comes to cold water. Hoping that at some point will be able to do an overnight hike and curl up with a polar bear in the middle of the night. Too bad right now the light is 24 hours, so there really is no night. In August, the sun is supposed to freeze in the sunset, so you get a red sky all night. Which will be pretty crazy to see, I think. There have been no whale sightings in town yet either, but they are supposed to come right into the shallow areas of water where I was hiking, so maybe in the next couple of weeks I might see one.
