Some of the most common fish that are caught out here quite easily are Arctic Char, Halibut, And Turbot. I have tried the Arctic Char which is a very strong flavored fish very much like salmon. I have also had Turbot which is very much the same as the halibut. The fisheries ask the townspeople to go out and fish for them. So, they Drill holes in the ice and drop these long lines down with about 200 hooks on it and after they have left the lines down there for a few days they go back and pull the lines up. For one crate of Turbot, they fill up they get $1500.00 You can also get shrimp, lobster tails and scallops. There is also fresh water fishing you can do where you can catch walleye and trout.
